Moorland Garden Hotel enjoys a beautiful location between the untamed splendour of Dartmoor National Park and the magnificent natural harbour of Plymouth. Formerly the Moorland Links Hotel, the property was purchased in July 2011 by Sonia and Brian Meaden. An extensive refurbishment programme to restore the hotel to its former glory is underway, renovating the main reception areas and refreshing all 44 bedrooms, as well as cultivating the nine acres of tranquil gardens. To celebrate the property's original features and layout, every bedroom has a slightly different design, with sumptuous fabrics and bold wall coverings adding a modern feel.
The Crystal Room features 12 glittering chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling glass windows that look out onto the garden, with doors that flow onto the lawn.
The Wildflower Restaurant overlooks the garden, with glass doors opening onto the terrace for alfresco dining. The Head Chef creates a menu of classic British favourites using the best ingredients, locally sourced. We are very proud of the fact that our Wildflower Restaurant has been awarded an AA Rosetter for Culinary Excellence.
Located in the heart of the building, the Dartmoor Bar and Lounge is two-tiered with a quiet fireside area for relaxing and reading. Local ales and hearty bar food welcomes walkers and residents. For outdoor enthusiasts, the varied Dartmoor landscape is right on the doorstep. This is prime walking country, whether stepping out onto Dartmoor or exploring the nearby Tamar Valley, and dogs are welcome throughout the hotel.
